Superior Home Care and Hospice marks a significant milestone this year, celebrating 30 years of dedicated service! Started in 1996 and spanning over three decades, the company has sprouted from a family-run business into a well loved agency known for it's compassionate care to patients and veterans across Salt Lake County. This anniversary is not only a moment to reflect on the past, but also to express gratitude to the people who made this journey possible: our clinical staff, administrative staff, referrers, the VA, and especially our patients and veterans who allow Superior to support them in their homes!
A Business Rooted in Compassion
Superior began as a small family business with a clear mission: to provide quality home care and hospice care. Marty and Kathy Hoelscher believed in treating every patient like family, a value that remains at the heart of the company today. Andrea Havacko, our administrator and owner, works tirelessly to tend to our company, and makes sure every patient is treated with the dignity and care they deserve. She makes sure the building continues to stand, through every trail and tribulation. Through Covid, the constant fluctuation of referrals, hard decisions, and staffing shortages, Andrea and her team work day and night to care for the patients who depend on them. This personal approach helps build trust within the community and lay the foundation for steady growth. Long-standing employees and dedicated administrative staff have played a crucial role in maintaining this culture. Their experience and loyalty have helped Superior adapt to changing healthcare needs while keeping patient care at the forefront.
Thank you to Our Wonderful Team!
Behind every patient’s positive experience is a team of skilled and compassionate employees. Superior’s success over 30 years owes much to its home health aides, homemakers, nurses, therapists, social workers, chaplains, and administrative staff. These professionals bring expertise and empathy to their roles, ensuring patients receive five-star service.

Superior's Future
As Superior celebrates this milestone, the focus turns to the future. The healthcare landscape continues to change, with new challenges and opportunities. Superior plans to keep evolving while holding true to its founding principles.
Key priorities for the coming years include:
Relocation from our Murray office to better suit office staff (keep an eye out for our new address!)
Enhancing technology to improve care coordination and patient monitoring by incorporating modern and up-to-date software. We are making a switch from using Devero to using Axxess
Strengthening partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations
Hiring a new nurse to help with staff shortages
Continuing to support and develop employee training and in-services to maintain high-quality care
This 30th anniversary is a moment to thank everyone who has been part of Superior’s journey. Patients and their families have placed their trust in the agency during vulnerable times. Referrers, including doctors, the VA, and community organizations, have helped connect those in need with Superior’s services.
Celebrating 30 years is not just about looking back, but also about renewing the promise to provide outstanding home care and hospice care for our current patients and for all those in our future.
Here's to many more years of excellence!
